Dance of the serpent

I was inspired by the erotic imagery of Jupiter in Hendrick Goltzuis: Jupiter and Antiope that led me to research the relationship between Eve and the serpent and society’s perceptions of women.  Due to the fall of Eve, women have been associated with serpents ever since.

"The Fallen Woman" by Linda Nochlin has inspired me to explore the idea of redemption represented by "shedding of skin".
